SADA Members Support Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts
In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey in August, SADA members launched a number of collection drives to assist communities hard hit by the storm.
At a SADA sponsored collection drive, members donated water, canned goods, food, blankets, diapers, dog food and other essentials which were delivered to District 8 City Councilman Manny Pelaez’s office for distribution to communities in need.
SADA also made a number of financial donations to support hurricane relief efforts including a $20,000 donation to the Rebuild Texas Relief Fund, a $10,000 donation to the NADA emergency relief fund to help dealership employees affected by the hurricane, and a financial contribution to the San Antonio Food Bank which funded 7,000 meals.
SADA members also donated generously to relief efforts. Among them:
The Cavender Auto Group donated $75,000 to underwrite a star-studded George Strait benefit concert at the Majestic Theatre featuring Strait, Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton, Lyle Lovett and Robert Earl Keen. The check presentation was made during a pre-concert press concert with the musicians and Governor Greg Abbott. A portion of the benefit concert was broadcast during a nationally televised Hand in Hand telethon on September 12.
Cavender Audi held a diaper drive to benefit the Diaper Bank.
Jordan Ford donated an entire truckload of bottled water to the San Antonio Food Bank for distribution to the impacted Gulf Coast communities.
